Your baby is so precious to us and understanding their unique routine is vital to ensure the best possible continuity from home to nursery. Our baby room, Bluebells, is spacious and stimulating with a wooden mole hole to crawl through, and treasure baskets full of textures, smells and sounds to explore. When it’s time to sleep your baby will be tucked up safely in our cots and special conicles and will be overseen at all times.
Our staff to baby ratio in Bluebells is 1:3 where each baby is allocated a Key Person trained in secure attachment theory to make your babies feel safe and secure at all times. Our Circle of Security parenting classes explain more about the principles of secure attachments.
Your baby’s Key Person communicates with you and your baby, ensuring your child’s unique daily routine is followed and that their needs are met throughout the day. At the end of each day we will provide you with feedback, both verbally and in the form of an electronic daily diary via your very own Sapphires Nursery App, keeping you up to date with all the activities your child has been involved in.
Included in their fun filled daily routines are: favourite songs; action rhymes; storytelling; playing musical instruments and puppetry.
Each child is encouraged to develop and use their senses by exploring different textured messy play, sand, water and painting.
We introduce activities to meet their natural curiosity, growing energy and development, whether it’s pouring out water at a water table, stacking tumbling blocks or playing with shapes and puzzles. We provide a wide range of open-ended resources to ensure children use their imaginations and learn to problem solve in a fun way.
We actively encourage exploration and introduction skills such as:
- Sensory and tactile skills
- Gross motor skills
- Gross motor skills are larger movements your baby makes with their arms, legs, feet, or their entire body. So crawling, running, and jumping are gross motor skills. Fine motor skills are smaller actions).
- Communication and language development
- Personal, social and emotional development
In our environment filled with smiles, love and encouragement, your child will experience the early successes he or she needs to grow and develop independence. Your child will have fun playing alongside new friends of his or her age.
